چکیده

The emergence and evolution of cooperation in complex natural, social and economical systems is an interdisciplinary topic of recent interest. This paper focuses on the cooperation on complex networks using the approach of evolutionary games. In particular, the phenomenon of diversityoptimized cooperation is briefly reviewed and the effect of network clustering on cooperation is treated in detail. For the latter, a general type of public goods games is used with the result that, for fixed average degree and degree distributions in the underlying network, a high clustering coefficient can promote cooperation. Basic quantities such as the cooperator and defector clusters, mean payoffs of cooperators and defectors along their respective boundaries, the fraction of cooperators for different classes as well as the mean payoffs of hubs in scale-free networks are also investigated. Since strong clustering is typical in many social networks, these results provide insights into the emergence of cooperation in such networks.

Evolutionary games on complex network

Cooperation is ubiquitous in the real world, ranging from biological systems to economic and social systems. Evolutionary game theory has been considered an important approach to characterizing and understanding the emergence of cooperative behavior in systems consisting of selfish individuals. In this paper, we review some of our works about dynamics of evolutionary games over complex networks...

Moran-evolution of cooperation: From well-mixed to heterogeneous complex networks

Configurational arrangement of network architecture and interaction character of individuals are two most influential factors on the mechanisms underlying the evolutionary outcome of cooperation, which is explained by the well-established framework of evolutionary game theory. In the current study, not only qualitatively but also quantitatively, we measure Moran-evolution of cooperation to supp...

Diversity of reproduction rate supports cooperation in the prisoner's dilemma game on complex networks

In human societies the probability of strategy adoption from a given person may be affected by the personal features. Now we investigate how an artificially imposed restricted ability to reproduce, overruling ones fitness, affects an evolutionary process. For this purpose we employ the evolutionary prisoner’s dilemma game on different complex graphs. Reproduction restrictions can have a facilit...

Coevolution of strategies and update rules in the Prisoner's Dilemma game on complex networks

In this work we study a weak Prisoner’s Dilemma game in which both strategies and update rules are subjected to evolutionary pressure. Interactions among agents are specified by complex topologies, and we consider both homogeneous and heterogeneous situations. We consider deterministic and stochastic update rules for the strategies, which in turn may consider single links or full context when s...

The Emergence of Cooperation in Public Goods Games on Randomly Growing Dynamic Networks

According to evolutionary game theory, cooperation in public goods games is eliminated by free-riders, yet in nature, cooperation is ubiquitous. Artificial models resolve this contradiction via the mechanism of network reciprocity. However, existing research only addresses pre-existing networks and does not specifically consider their origins. Further, much work has focused on scale-free networ...
